Split-Quote Shipping Rates

Get split-quote shipping rates for orders with multiple shipping origins or destinations.

A split-quote in shipping refers to a quotation for a single, large order that has been divided into two or more separate shipments or packages, often requiring different shipping methods, routes, or timelines. This often occurs in logistics when all items in an order are not available at one location, when items are too bulky to fit in one container, or when a customer requests items be sent to different destinations.

Overview

If your store ships from multiple warehouses, you may need shipping rates calculated using more than one shipping origin address. Zoey supports this using Inventory Locations, which allow you to:

  • Set up multiple warehouse addresses (shipping origins)
  • Track inventory per warehouse
  • Automatically assign order items to be fulfilled by the correct warehouse
  • Generate split shipping rates (multi-origin shipping quotes) for any shipping carrier

With these features, when customers order items from multiple different inventory locations they will see a single shipping amount. That amount will cover the cost of each shipment from the respective origins. Such won't be displayed to admins or customers but the shipping amount they're charged will reflect different shipping prices combined together.
