Scanning Barcodes in the Admin
Barcodes can be scanned in the Web Admin to add products to the order cart.
How it works
Toggle Enable Barcode Scanning to scan product barcodes to add them to the order cart in the web admin.

When you scan a barcode, Zoey will check the barcode attribute values set across your catalog to find the right item and add it to the cart.
Adding Barcode to your Products
Go to Products > Attributes to create a text attribute called "Barcode".
Your barcode for each product should be unique.

Then you can add a barcode to each of your products through Bulk Actions > Edit, or by importing a CSV file to set the barcode to your products.

Once uploaded, you can use your scanner to add the products to cart through their barcode value.
Using a Bluetooth Scanner
Zoey supports Zebra, Socket, and most other scanners that can connect to your computer through bluetooth.
- Connect scanner via Bluetooth to your device,
- Click Scan Barcodes and the cart will begin listening for scans.
- Scan your product's physical barcode, and then click Save Item Changes.
There will be a green success message if a matching barcode is found in your catalog. Or a red error message if the barcode is not found.
FAQ
Do I have to upload barcodes?
Yes, after creating the barcode attribute, you will need to set the barcode for each product you want to scan into the cart.
What barcode types are supported?
We currently support the following: .qr, .code128, .code39, .code93, .itf14, .ean8, .ean13, .pdf417
How can I handle Configurable Product barcodes?
If you have a 'master barcode' for a configurable product, upload it to the configurable product. Otherwise, set a barcode on each variation.
Can barcodes be scanned without a scanner?
Yes, barcodes can be scanned through the Zoey Mobile App to create an order there. Click here to learn more.
