How to Invite Customers
Send an invitation email for customer to create a password and log into your store.
Customer contacts can set up their passwords and get logged into your store through the Invite Email.
That email contains a link that lets the customer create a password for their Contact and then get logged into their Account(s) at your store.
Customers will log into their Contact with their email and password. That contact has a role at accounts or locations to determine their permissions and what emails they're sent.
Send Customer Invitation
Go to Customers > Contacts and select the contacts you'd like to send the password-setup email to. Use Bulk Actions to Send Invite Email.
Customers could also use the Forgot Password link with their email to set up a password without being sent an invite.
Check whether your customer has set up their password and logged into the store through the Last Logged In column on your Contacts list.
Last Logged In column will display if the invitation has been sent, and whether the customer used it to get logged in.
Bulk Invitation Email Queue
When more than 100 invitation emails are being sent they'll be added to a queue and sent over time.
Add the Last Invitation Email Status column to your Contacts list to see the status of that email. The column can show if the email is Queued, Sent, Delivered, or Bounced. The email statuses are checked and updated every ~10 minutes.
These columns also enable you to create Tabs in the Contact list which filter based on the Last Invitation Email Status, Last Invitation Sent At, and the Last Logged In to show you:
- Customers who've received the invite email but did not set up their password.
- Invite emails to customers that bounced (were not delivered successfully).
- List of customers who received the invite and got logged in.
- Invite emails that are still in the queue
