MailChimp for Zoey

Step 1: Add the MailChimp for Zoey App to your store


Adding the new MailChimp for Zoey App

After clicking "GET APP" you will be asked to log-in and/or verify your store name before installing the app. App installation can take from 60-90 seconds. We may tell you that you will receive an email when the app is ready to use.

Step 2: Configuring MailChimp

Once installed, you can access the MailChimp App from from your Admin Panel in the Apps page.

  1. Click "Manage" next to "Configure MailChimp"

  2. Set Enabled to YES

  3. Click "Get API Credentials"

  1. In the pop-up window, input your MailChimp login credentials and click Log In.
  1. In the pop-up window, highlight the API key and copy it to a text editor or your clipboard, so you can paste it to Zoey.
  1. Close the pop-up window to return to the configuration screen.

  2. Paste your MailChimp API key in the API Key field. To learn how to generate a MailChimp API Key, read About API Keys.

  3. Click Save Config

  4. When the page reloads, click the General Subscription drop-down menu and choose the MailChimp list to sync with Zoey.

Optional MailChimp Configuration

Sending MailChimp Additional Customer Information

You can, edit or create "merge fields" to send Zoey-specific information to MailChimp.



In the Ecommerce section, click Yes to enable MailChimp's e-commerce features.


This is available for paid MailChimp accounts only.


Click the drop-down menu next to Subscribe all customers to the newsletter, and choose No. We recommend this setting for a permission-based list.


Abandoned Cart

In the Abandoned Cart section, click Yes to enable MailChimp's abandoned cart automation feature.


This feature may require a paid MailChimp account.


In the First date field of the Abandoned Cart section, choose the date that you want to begin targeting abandoned carts.

MailChimp and Zoey are now connected. Zoey customers will be added your list, and e-commerce data will be added to MailChimp’s subscriber profiles. Guest checkouts will be added to the Transactional section of your list.

Products, customers, and orders will be sent to MailChimp approximately every five minutes

Order Confirmation Emails

If you're not receiving New Order Confirmation Emails, you will need to set up a new order notification automation so that it pairs with the current store connection.

First and Last Name are Required

If you're not seeing your subscribers you may want to check if your MailChimp list requires first and last name. If those are required all Guest Subscriptions are being rejected.
There are two ways to fix this:

  1. Enter a default first and last name into Apps > MailChimp configuration
  2. Change the settings on the list in the MailChimp admin to not require first name and last name.

Disconnect MailChimp Account

If need to disconnect and connect your MailChimp account again, log into your MailChimp account. Click on your Account Name in the top right and select Account from the drop down menu.
Click on View Connected Sites.


It will show you the connected sites, then click on View Details next to the one you want to disconnect.


In the next page click on Remove Site in the bottom right to disconnect your Zoey and MailChimp Account.


From here you can proceed to connect the account again following the steps outlined in this tutorial.
